WHY CHOOSE IT

Itching with no lesions (incl. idiopathic puppy pruritis); springtime grass or pollen allergy; hives: Pruritus is the medical term for the unpleasant (and sometimes maddening!) sensation of itch. Itching in dogs and cats can be triggered by flea bites, demodex or sarcoptic mites (mange), atopic eczema, ringworm, allergic or irritant contact dermatitis or other underlying issues that cause skin lesions. But itching can happen even if there are no visible lesions on the skin of your dog or cat. You cannot see lesions, but you see evidence of itch – your pet will scratch, shake it ears, or rub on furniture or the carpet or the lawn.

In Chinese Medicine Dermatology, we often refer to itching that has no visible or palpable lesions as “Wind” – because just like wind, it moves around, and you cannot see it. You can only see evidence of it (like a breeze making waves in the grass as it rolls across a field). Our SOLUTION PR: Wind Heat herbal supplement is formulated with Chinese herbs that are classified as able to Clear Heat, Dispel Wind and Stop Itch. This herbal supplement is perfect for your pet if they itch but you cannot find any visual evidence of problems in their skin (except maybe a little redness from scratching). An example of this might be springtime allergies. SOLUTION PR: Wind Heat is also the supplement of choice to support the skin of pets who get acute urticaria (hives). These are lesions that come and go – appear then disappear (like the wind). **

  • To support healthy skin in your dog, cat, or rabbit, add the herbal supplement to their food or give by mouth via oral syringe.

To add directly to their meal, mix the herbal supplement into moist canned food. Or, add the herbal supplement to your favorite powder nutritional supplement, mix with water to form gravy, and pour over kibble. Herbs can taste bitter to your pet, so you may need to introduce the supplement slowly by starting with a smaller amount at first and gradually increasing it as they get used to the new flavor in their food.

To give via oral syringe, dissolve herbal supplement in hot water. We recommend approximately 2ml of water per gram of herbal supplement (our oral syringes have measurement marks on them to make this easy). In a small bowl or shot glass, add herbal supplement to hot water and stir. Allow a few minutes for herbal supplement to fully dissolve before drawing the liquid mixture up into the syringe. Place syringe between your pet’s tongue and cheek, angled toward the back of their mouth and gently depress the plunger at a slow, even rate.

Suggested dose based on pet’s body weight:
